Brian Amorim C.

PhD student at University College London

Research interests:
Economics, Macroeconomics, Applied Statistics

Brian is a PhD student and researcher in Economics at UCL. His current research focuses on the impact of currency movements in emerging markets that rely on foreign-denominated debt. In these economies, depreciations against funding currencies, principally the US dollar, trigger a fall in credit and a deterioration in the borrowers' balance sheets as the value of their debts, expressed in local currency, rises. His research attempts to quantify such effects and the optimal policy response to such movements. He is also the recipient of an ESRC scholarship for his PhD studies.
