Indigo Research is a group of scholars and educators brought together by the common goal of making research accessible to all. That’s why we decided to establish an education company with the potential to both inspire and transform the academic journeys of generations of students, by offering online research opportunities for high school students.

Academic Integrity

Academic integrity is the foundation of ethical research and the bedrock of our work at Indigo Research. All Indigo Research students, parents, mentors, and team members are required to sign our Academic Honor Code, in keeping with standard practice at colleges, universities, and legitimate research institutions. Academic Honor Codes are designed to protect mentor's and student’s academic integrity and to ensure that Indigo Research continues to operate according to the highest standards of academic ethics and excellence.

In keeping with our rigorous academic integrity standards, Indigo Research cannot guarantee publication or student outcomes. It is our mission to support our students’ intellectual growth, both in their chosen fields and in their research methods.

Jamie is a co-founder and CEO of Crimson Education – a close partner of Indigo Research. Crimson Education is dedicated to levelling the playing field in world leading university admissions. The world’s most successful college admissions company, Crimson now boasts a global student community who are mentored and tutored by over 2,400 tutors who themselves have graduated from the world’s best universities including all Ivy Leagues, Stanford, MIT, Oxford and Cambridge.

Gabe created Indigo Research in 2019 after finding that students were searching for, but could not find – an accessible way to dig deeply into their academic passions with guidance from experts. Since then, Indigo Research has assisted over 700 students in 25+ disciplines, guided by over 200 mentors from many of the top 30 universities in the world. Originally Gabe applied to Harvard as a high school senior; deferred, then rejected. Developed a scholarly interest in Chinese Politics as a freshman at Tufts University. Gabe authored a 25-page research paper, highlighted as his top Common App activity. Reapplied as a transfer student to Harvard, and was accepted after submitting the research paper with his application.

Mo Bishnoi
General Manager

Mo, a graduate of Harvard Kennedy School in Business, Government, and Education Policy, has extensive experience in education and professional development. As Head of Crimson Community, Mo managed 60+ monthly sessions for 1,500+ high school students. At Boston Consulting Group, Mo contributed to the Education, Employment, and Welfare Practice. Mo also worked as Director of Partnerships, collaborating with administrators from Harvard, MIT, Stanford, and 120+ U.S. colleges. With Teach For All via Teach For India, Mo served as a Teacher Trainer, Curriculum Coach, and Facilitator, shaping future educators. Mo specializes in creating innovative programs that empower students and educators globally.

Ivo Lima
Director of Partnerships and Sales

Ivo studied Economics and Math at the University of Chicago and began his career on Wall Street as a derivatives structurer at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.As the leader of the non-profit BRASA, Ivo helped hundreds of students gain admission to top universities. He is an alumnus of Stanford’s prestigious 2+2 MBA program and also earned a Master’s in Education from Stanford.After completing his MBA, Ivo joined Indigo's leadership team to expand the organization's global impact. He is passionate about helping students develop their profiles and passions through academic research.

Joani’s teaching and curriculum design experiences are capacious. At Harvard, they range from her year teaching the University’s iconic “HUM 10” introduction to the humanities—for which she wrote the final exam and was recognized for her “distinction in teaching”—to the two Junior Tutorials that she designed for the English Department. Beyond her classroom teaching, Joani has supervised numerous senior theses and served as the Founding Director of the English Department’s program for professional development in the humanities. Prior to her studies at Harvard, Joani assisted courses offered by KCL and UNC Chapel Hill in London, mentored researchers learning English as a second language at Princeton, and helped design and lead education and outreach initiatives at the Bodleian Library, Cotsen Library, and Library of Congress.

Director of IRIS Program

Laila holds an AB in Social Studies with an emphasis on post-colonial theory and history from Harvard University, and an MM from the New England Conservatory in Jazz Voice. While in college, she held leadership roles on the Undergraduate Council, the Arts & Humanities Student Board, and a variety of activist organizations, including the Harvard Graduate Student Union.

Amber Schaub
Head of Academic Operations

Education:

Amber, a graduate of Teachers College, Columbia University in International Education Development, is an accomplished leader in education. As the former Director of Pre-College at The School of The New York Times, she oversaw programs for 1,500+ students annually, managing 400+ professors, Pulitzer Prize winners, and NYT staff. At The New York Academy of Sciences, she led global STEM mentoring initiatives across 30+ countries, partnering with top scientists and educators. Amber directed 700+ courses for over 14,000 students annually at The New York Botanical Garden, fostering lifelong learning. Her expertise lies in creating transformative educational programs connecting students with world-class mentors.

As a Marketing Lead at Indigo Research Alisa oversees the marketing strategy and communications efforts. With 9+ years of experience in the EdTech industry, she has a deep understanding of both enterprise and startup environments. Driven by her passion for education, Alisa is dedicated to using her expertise to open up the world of learning to students everywhere and improve access to education.

Throughout her career, Lam has supported over 60 students in achieving impressive admissions results to top US and UK universities, including Oxford, Cambridge, UPenn, Berkeley, UCLA, Carnegie Mellon, LSE, Imperial, KCL and more! Her research focuses on Metacognitive Development in children. As a Senior Academic Advisor, Lam passionate about guiding students on their research journey and tailoring solid university admissions strategies.

Ren Martinez is an Operations Associate for Indigo Research. She is thankful to work in a field where she gets to contribute to greater academic opportunity for high school students across the globe. She attended the University of Southern California, where she studied voice and songwriting and graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Popular Music Performance. Born and raised in Los Angeles, she lives there still, where she continues to make music as a singer-songwriter, perform on stage, and record as a voice actor. She is an avid reader, a devoted film-goer, and loves to spend time in nature, up in the mountains and down by the sea.
