Frequently Asked Questions

If case you have any unanswered questions, please reach out to our Indigo Research team via
How long will my presentation be?
You will present for 15 minutes total: 10 minutes of your presentation, plus a 5 minute Q&A with your facilitator and peers. Here are the Indigo presentation guidelines.
How long will it take for me to receive my transcript?
UCSB requires about 1 month from your Indigo Academic Conference presentation to process your grades and upload your digital transcript.
How will I be graded?
An Indigo Mentor will attend your presentation and give you a letter grade according to the Indigo Academic Conference Rubric.
If you have received a B or below on your presentation, the Indigo team will inform you. You will then have 3 business days to request your preference for a letter grade or Pass/Fail on your UCSB transcript.
What’s in the Indigo Academic Conference Rubric?
You will be graded on 3 aspects of your presentation.
1. The Basics: Did you observe all deadlines? Did your presentation last 10 minutes? Did you do the Q&A? Did you have an appropriate slide presentation?
2. Content: Did you define your key terms? Did you provide scholarly context? Did you state your thesis? Did you include graphics or figures? Was your presentation intelligible to an interdisciplinary audience?
3. Delivery: Did you seem confident? Were you well-paced? Did you engage withquestions?
Are my 2 UCSB credits transferrable?
Yes, UCSB credits are transferrable to the vast majority of US institutions. Please be aware that credit transfer requests are generally evaluated by universities on a case-by-case basis, depending on which courses or requirements you are proposing the transfer for.
Will I receive UCSB credit before early decision deadlines?
Yes, as long as you present at the conference on September 7th and indicate your letter grade versus Pass/Fail preference (if applicable), you will receive access to your digital transcript by October 4th. You will receive UCSB registration through the email you used to register for the Indigo Academic Conference.
If there are any issues with your transcript, please inform the Indigo team!
